    Extra information: Boucheron - A leading French jewelry firm, founded in 1858 in the Palais Royal, Paris, by Frédéric Boucheron (1830-1902) and now having its main establishment at 26 Place VendOme, Paris, with branches in London and elsewhere.Frédéric Boucheron was succeeded by his son Louis (1874-1959), in turn succeeded by his son Gerard (b. 1910), whose son Alain (b. 1948) is now active in the business.     Boucheron ist ein französisches Juwelierhaus, das 1858 von Frédéric Boucheron gegründet wurde. Der Juwelier arbeitete mit einer breiten Palette von Gold sowie kostbaren Edelsteinen wie Rubinen und Peridots. Sein Schmuck wurde von Motiven aus der Natur inspiriert, wie der Schlange, die später zum Symbol des Hauses wurde. Die erste Boucheron-Boutique wurde 1858 in der Galerie de Valois am Palais Royal in Paris eröffnet. In den folgenden Jahren eröffnete Frédéric Boucheron ein Atelier und begann die Zusammenarbeit mit seinem Neffen, Georges Radius. Das Spiel mit Formen, Manipulationen des Materials und Kombinationen von Edelsteinen hatten Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts ihr Publikum gefunden. Boucheron zog nun eine Klientel von Schriftstellern, Künstlern und Prinzen an. Als Fédéric Boucheron 1902 starb, übernahm sein Sohn Louis das Haus. Als Erbe trug er zur Entwicklung des Labels bei, indem er über Frankreich hinausreichte. Er eröffnete eine Filiale in Moskau und begann eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem jungen Juwelier Pierre Sterlé. 1954 übernahmen seine Kinder, Fred und Gérard Boucheron, als nächste die Marke. Unter Beibehaltung des geerbten Know-hows etablierten sie das Label in den 1970er Jahren in Japan, wo Jane Birkin berühmt mit einem Boucheron-Diamantencollier posierte. Alain Boucheron übernahm 1971 die Leitung des Unternehmens, und im Jahr 2000 erwarb die Gucci-Gruppe das Juwelierhaus Boucheron. Unter der Leitung von Jean-Christophe Bedos wurden auf der ganzen Welt neue Boutiquen eingeweiht. 2007 war Boucheron der erste Juwelier, der einen E-Commerce-Shop in Europa eröffnete. Im Jahr 2011 wurde Claire Choisne zur Kreativdirektorin des Juwelierhauses am Place Vendôme ernannt. Nach anderthalb Jahrhunderten ist das Juwelierhaus Boucheron zu einer wichtigen Referenz für feinen Schmuck und Zeitmesser geworden.
