Ugo Baracco was born in Padova in 1949. After studying painting in Padua, he enrolled in the Accademia delle Belle Art in Venice, where he took lessons in etching and printmaking. He also experimented with various etching techniques, such as aquatint aquafortis and mezzotint. His work was inspired by the great Venetian masters, like Canaletto, Guardi and Piranesi. He has earned international recognition as a master printmaker exhibiting all over Europe, Canada, Asia, Australia, Russia, and throughout the United States. He also was honoured with prestigious awards and his work is included in the permanent collection of the Italian Embassy to the United Nations in New York, along with many public and private collections.
