Uber den Künstler

Bernhard Anton Funke, or Anton Küpper, his real name, was born in Ruhrort, Germany in 1869. From 1895 on, he lived and worked in Rotterdam, where he went to the Academy of Fine Arts. He later became the teacher of Frans Funke (his son) and Wim Heinecke. He specialized in the drawing and painting of flowers and plants, mainly in the Naturalist style. He died in Haarlem, the Netherlands in 1955.
